Eight Aussie startups to join Google’s AI accelerator program

Google Australia have announced the inaugural cohort of eight Artificial Intelligence (AI)-focussed Aussie startups who will join a 10-week AI accelerator program offering mentorship from Google AI experts, technical support, networking and workshops.

Eight finalists will join the Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First program, an equity-free, hybrid accelerator program tailored for Seed and Series A Aussie startups building AI and ML-driven platforms and products.

The AI First program is part of Google Australia’s $1 billion Digital Future Initiative and is designed to help Aussie startups that are building and discovering AI and ML solutions grow rapidly and responsibly. It expands on Google’s commitment to foster local AI innovation through initiatives such as the recent AI Sprint and Google Certificates.

“Australia is a trailblazer in AI innovation and has a vibrant startup industry. Under the Digital Future Initiative, we’re excited to be fostering that potential,” said Scott Riddle, Google Australia and New Zealand.

“The AI Accelerator will give these AI-focused startups support, mentorship, and resources to grow rapidly and responsibly. We look forward to working with these incredible Australian businesses to help shape the future of AI innovation in Australia.”
