EVOLVE24 APAC in Singapore highlights how trusted data today fuels tomorrow’s AI

Today, Cloudera, the only true hybrid platform for data, analytics, and AI, will be holding its annual data and AI conference, EVOLVE24 APAC, in Singapore at Marina Bay Sands. Cloudera CEO Charles Sansbury, alongside other key Cloudera global C-suite executives, such as Chief Revenue Officer Frank O’Dowd, and Chief Strategy Officer Abhas Ricky, will be in attendance.

Sponsored by Amazon Web Services (AWS), IBM and Red Hat, this year’s conference will see Cloudera’s executives joined by over 400 customers and partners, analysts, and business leaders. There will also be breakout sessions and hands-on workshops, including key customer speakers from leading organisations across financial services, telecommunications, and the manufacturing sector.

AI is projected to contribute an estimated USD 15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030.

To maximise AI’s potential, the common challenges that organisations need to overcome when accessing all of their data include contradictory datasets, inability to govern data across platforms and too much data, as revealed in Cloudera’s The State of the Enterprise AI and modern Data Architecture survey of IT leaders. The survey also highlighted that the top barriers to AI adoption are security and compliance risks, lack of proper training or talent to manage AI tools and the high cost of AI tools. To address these, EVOLVE24 APAC will focus on the critical role of a modern data architecture and the benefits of a true hybrid cloud environment. It will explore how this powerful combination can accelerate enterprise AI, revolutionising the way businesses and industries extract meaningful and actionable insights from their data.

“The gap between businesses leveraging AI and those lagging behind is widening rapidly,” said Remus Lim, Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan at Cloudera. “The need for a strong data foundation has never been clearer. AI is the key that unlocks the true potential of this valuable asset, but it is just the first step. In fact, our recent survey showed that 88% of enterprises are adopting AI in some capacity. However, organisations are seeking greater support in terms of data infrastructure and skills to operationalise their AI and access all of their data such that critical insights are trustworthy and unbiased; only then will the truly transformative impact of AI be seen.”

The winners of this year’s Cloudera Data Impact Awards will also be announced at EVOLVE24 APAC. These prestigious awards recognise outstanding data-driven projects that have made a significant business impact within their organisations, across industries, and globally.

“EVOLVE24 is the world’s most comprehensive data and AI event series, providing organisations with hands-on training and one-to-one access with Cloudera experts,” said Charles Sansbury, CEO of Cloudera. “By turning EVOLVE24 into a multi-day global conference, Cloudera is bringing the power of our platform and our community directly to our customers. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate and network with some of the brightest minds in data management, analytics, and AI.”

As enterprises invest more in generative AI applications, robust and adaptable metadata management becomes critical for data quality and compliance. Cloudera is supporting organisations by strengthening its metadata management with modernised data catalog and Iceberg REST integration. Cloudera’s Iceberg REST Catalog integration and Shared Data Experience (SDX), a cloud-native containerised experience, will enhance open interoperability while addressing growing demands for data security and governance.

Cloudera Singapore is proud to be certified by Great Place to Work in June 2024. This award is based entirely on a survey of existing employees about their experience working in the organisation.
